One Faith Community Church
Featured Case Study
From rental limitations to a purpose-built facility
Central Plano, TX · House of Worship
A former game center reimagined into a ground-up worship facility in five months — engineered so a volunteer team can go from doors-open to service-ready in 15 minutes.
5 months — Design to operation · 15 min — Sunday setup (from ~2 hrs) · 3 weeks — To fully operational · 9–11 — Volunteers across 4+ roles

The challenge
For years, One Faith Community Church rented a worship space with pre-installed systems they didn't own and couldn't customize. Each Sunday was rigid: arrive at 1pm, set up until 3pm, rehearse 4–4:45pm, service at 5pm. Two people managed audio and lighting across disparate systems — fighting the board, fighting the room, carrying the same technical baggage every single week.
The real problem wasn't the space. It was ownership. Renting meant constraint: no growth, no iteration, no ability to build a volunteer team or scale the experience.
In February 2025, a former game center and church space became available in central Plano. Good bones, blank slate. OFCC saw the opportunity to own the facility, control the infrastructure, and build something that supports community year-round — not just a three-hour Sunday block.
A ground-up facility, not an equipment swap
Between February and July 2025, Pleasant Digital designed and built a complete ground-up facility. This wasn't about equipment selection — it was about reimagining operations from the infrastructure up.
Infrastructure & design
- Custom-engineered stage platform with integrated riser, professional backdrop, and multi-camera sightlines
- Square box-truss rigging overhead with permanent power and DMX distribution built in
- Complete electrical load analysis, dedicated AV circuits, and professional grounding
- Every cable and conduit run engineered for distributed audio, camera, network, and lighting — no improvisation
- Custom production booth with professional sightlines, rack architecture, and an ergonomic layout for volunteer operators
Professional systems integration
Audio
- Allen & Heath Avantis (96k processing, pristine preamps) replaced the previous Midas M32
- Immediate, dramatic difference — clean, tight low-end with zero fighting the board or the room
- Full processing depth volunteers can actually learn and leverage
Lighting
- ChamSys MQ50 with house lighting scenes replaced a basic light key
- Concert-grade fixtures — full creative control over scenes, shows, and experience design
- Volunteers can program, not just execute
Video & streaming
- Blackmagic ATEM HD8 ISO with an integrated ProPresenter matrix
- One operator, two buttons for a clean stream and record
- Advanced keying (DSK lower thirds), graphics integration, and PTZOptics presets
Cameras
- PTZOptics multi-camera setup with custom presets
- Volunteers operate PTZ as designed — not fighting manual positioning
Networking
- Ubiquiti UniFi infrastructure throughout
- Cameras, signage, distributed audio, and future expansion all engineered in
Audio distribution
- Multi-zone system delivering worship audio to satellite spaces
- Infrastructure for community use throughout the week
The operational transformation
Within the first three weeks, systems were operational, core volunteers were trained, and production workflows were integrated — already running smoother than the rental ever did.
After three Sunday services, call time had moved to 7pm (heading to 7:30pm), setup was down to 15 minutes and still getting faster, and the volunteer team was growing: a core four positions (audio, lighting, cameras, graphics/ProPresenter) plus five to six more rotating in and learning the equipment at advanced levels — programming scenes, color-correcting cameras, using PTZ presets, and leveraging full ATEM functions.
The key shift was from survival mode — the setup/repeat/teardown cycle — to iteration mode: each week easier, systems stabilizing, and the team advancing.
Why it matters
The rental facility forced OFCC to accept whatever came with shared infrastructure. The new space — with integrated systems, professional equipment, and infrastructure engineered for growth — transformed operations from "get through Sunday" to "what can we do next?"
Within three weeks they moved from fighting the technology to leveraging it. Volunteers aren't pressing buttons; they're learning the full capabilities of a professional Avantis console, a concert-grade lighting rig, and broadcast-quality video production. Each service is less chaotic and more intentional.
The facility now enables OFCC's larger mission: genuine community and fellowship space available throughout the week — not just a three-hour Sunday block.
“The shift wasn't just better gear. It was moving from survival mode — setup, repeat, teardown — to iteration mode, where every week gets easier and the team keeps advancing.”
